Hey guys, Justine here, and I’ve done something incredibly dumb and exhilarating at the same time.
I posted a YT vid to answer a question we got on the ask.fm.
I will also post the link in ask.fm to answer that specific question. Just not any time soon because I. Am. Overwhelmed right now. I’m not comfortable with my face or voice being on camera because that’s not who I am. I also am not naturally photo (or video) – genic so this really was a frightening task for me.
The reason I did this though was because I wanted to test out the video format. This is a more direct, frank, and no holds barred conversation with you, the amazing readers of TBC.
When I write, I can edit it down a lot. But when I talk, it’s a lot more unfiltered. So you can see more of my thinking process and the other little bits of info and advice I’d like to share but usually don’t for the sake of editing.
Which is super difficult if you’re me because, I have a ton of thoughts that are scattered everywhere. Editing is a real chore.
So, the video’s all about starting salary for ad agencies here in Manila. Spoiler: it’s usually minimum wage but some people manage to negotiate for a higher salary, like my friend.
Format of the video is super simple. Just 5 minutes of me talking about ad agencies salary, taxes, what it’s like in there in a very superficial way. Remember that everything I base this on is first person accounts of friends in the industry.
Here’s the link to the video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Wjl3gsNWDU
And to the teaser link on Facebook:
And that’s it. I’m going to go hide in a hole right now because I’m dying from embarrassment. Really hate being on video.
If you have any comments, suggestions, tips, please feel free to email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let me know too if I should keep doing video, or this kind of format. No feedback means no continuation.
If you have mean things to say that aren’t at all constructive or can improve this experience for everybody, please feel free to write it down on a piece of paper, dunk that piece of paper into a cup of water, and then drink that water.
Thanks, and join me next time when I embarrass myself again on camera for the sake of knowledge.
